Waipara Springs gets on as a boutique Winery, lain in the warm and dry Waipara valley to the north of Christchurch. The enterprise belongs together to the families moorlands and Grant and is led largely by Andrew Grant who is jointly also responsible for all aspects of the wine production.

Original 4 hectares of Chardonnay-cultivation from the year 1982 have grown on, meanwhile, more than 20 hectares. Now are produced - near Chardonnay - the sorts Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling, as well as a quite excellent Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. In small amounts a Merlot is also available for the first time.
The wine-growing is led by Bruce Moore, one of the winegrower's-pioneers in the Waipara region.
